agrasen stepwell
While there’s not a lot of photos to show, this medieval structure seems worthy, somehow, of its own page. Agrasen Ki Baoli, as its known locally, was constructed in 1506 and is representative of the types of wells found all over India. In addition to its own inherent worth as an historical relic, the site has, apparently, become quite popular with Bollywood and multiple films over the years have featured a scene or two at this iconic location in New Delhi. As well, urban legend holds that the stepwell is haunted!
The ruins of a small, Persian-style mosque remains attached to the stepwell, a later addition to the site.
